The BC Goes Wild Photo Contest returns this year with 3 categories:
- WildSafe Wildlife – Photos taken of BC Wildlife that abide by WildSafeBC’s Photography Code of Ethics
- WildSafe Activity – Photos taken of humans taking actions to avoid conflict with wildlife. Examples include: recreating while carrying bear spray, packing out garbage from natural spaces, securing attractants where you live, work, play or grow.
- WildSafe Ranger – Photos taken by youth 13-17 in either category.
A $100 prize will be awarded to the winner of each category based on composition, overall impact, technical quality. The contest deadline is September 30th, 2019 at midnight.
WildSafeBC recognizes that taking photos of wildlife can sometimes put people and wildlife at risk. As such, WildSafeBC has developed a Photography Code of Ethics (in the Contest Rules and Regulations) that are required to be followed when submitting photos. The intent is to reduce a photographer’s actions that may interfere with wildlife’s natural behaviours or that may put people at risk if they are too close to their subjects. To participate, please read the Rules and Regulations and complete the form below.
