Programs

Community Program

WildSafeBC Community Programs run all over BC each season

Bare Campsite

Bin Tagging

Bin tagging is an educational activity performed by a WildSafeBC Community Coordinator. It consists of placing a highly visible and removable sticker on containers set curbside the day before collection or outside of times stated in local bylaws. WildSafeBC provides information on these bylaws but does not enforce them or deliver fines.

Bear Smart

The Bear Smart Community program is a program designed and run by The Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource operations in partnership with the British Columbia Conservation Foundation and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities. The goal is to address the root causes of human/bear conflicts, thereby reducing the risks to human safety and private property, as well as the number of bears that have to be destroyed each year.

Business Pledge

Bear-Resistant Product Testing

WildSafeBC encourages manufacturers to contact the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee to have their products tested.
